Ordered in Paul's food for private birthday cocktail party.  The food was excellent:  interesting, tasty and abundant.  Perfectly matched to the event - easy to eat and enjoy while standing up.  Recommended as a great choice for an event that does not want to rely on "the usual suspects" when it comes to food but wants something different and exciting."

C & C Fundraiser in Sydney!
Friends and well wishers gathered at Paul van Reyk’s house on 9th February 2008 in Sydney, Australia for an evening of champagne, wine and a good old Sri Lankan ‘buth curry’. Paul van Reyk, the chef with more than just a twinkle in his eye, produced Sri Lankan Rice and curry worthy of all the praise and glory it received! Truly the tastiest fare ‘down under’!

Thanks to Paul for his donation of the food, the champagne, the beer and the house! And most of all…his cheery disposition as he ladled huge tureens filled with the most tastiest treats this side of Matara!

Reviews of "The Curry Bowlo"
This marvellous slice of Petersham and lawn bowls history - hung with decades of memorabilia - has been given a new life thanks to a community-based club board of management and Paul van Reyk's monthly Curry Bowlo nights.

Sri lanka-born foodie Van Reyk has spent many years spreading his food gospel, sharing his knowledge far and wide.

Now, he is sharing his cooking too - $ 15 scores you a selection of Sri Lankan curries, mostly vegetable-based, plus rice, sambols and fruit for afters. Don't miss the sweet-sour eggplant with curry leaves and turmeric, a dark goat curry on the bone and the smokey bean sprout mallum (warm salad) with grated coconut, chilli, lime juice and a hint of Maldive (dried) fish.

'We had the pleasure of Paul come over to our home in Marrickville to cater for our end of year party with 14 friends.

The night was a great success and was made so much easier by having Paul in the engine room. The only thing we needed to worry about was that everyone had a drink !

The food was fantastic, amazingly fresh flavours, plenty of variety, interesting and exotic combinations with each dish explained, mountainous servings and every guest left with a doggy bag !

He is very prompt and easy to please, just leave him be in your kitchen and the magic happens

we look forward to having Paul over again for a night filled with great food and no hassle
